I’ve always had a fairly volatile relationship with my watches. In the last 12 months I’ve managed to lose a yellow G-Shock, smash the screen on a Timex Indigo and went swimming in my 1983 vintage Swatch watch (a recent birthday present from Mrs Thinking Chap); needless to say it packed in not long after that and as you can well imagine breaking the news to her went down like a shit sandwich. So now we’ve established that I’m a complete knacker who can’t look after anything, what unsuspecting timepiece will be next in line for ruin? Any one of these Uniform Wares watches could well have that misfortune.
UW is a British Company with a philosophy centred around contemporary, aesthetic design and functionality. Their latest 104 and 203 series wristwatches are just that. The minimal slick design looks fantastic, with a simple round dial encased in stainless steel and a hardened crystal mineral lens. The mechanical components are made from finest swiss quartz movement and thankfully they’re all water-resistant, which is handy if you fancy taking an impromptu dip this summer.
The 203 series features a soft Italian calf leather strap, whereas the 104 collection comes with a polyurethane rubber strap with my winner being this orange number. Uncomplicated, functional watches that look ace!
