Anyone remember that YMC Spot Jersey from earlier this year? What a class bit of kit that was. It’s the kind of thing you end up wearing to death, discard to gather dust in your wardrobe, then re-discover it a few years later and conclude it’s actually the coolest jumper you own. Anyway, if you missed it there were a few sizes left in Hannigans summer sale last week … worth a punt!
Thankfully London based YMC are back with more of the same for AW14, designing an impressive range of shirting, outerwear and knitwear. Yes, that’s ‘knitwear’ and yes I’m well aware it’s only August, but it’s colder than witches tit on Tyneside and regardless of the season, I’ve been hankering for a mince in a cable knit since March.
The Vintage Crew Neck Boucle Knit is arguably my favourite piece from their collection of new season gear, with its rust red 100% soft wool finish. However, I’m also mad keen on the Quilted Bomber below, which is constructed from a nylon/cotton mix and features a fully lined interior, ribbed cuffs, hem and collar, two external pockets and embroidered outer-body … well autumnal!
