Pennsylvania amongst many other things, is home to one of the oldest and largest Amish communities in North America and also the birthplace of acclaimed vintage shirt making family, the Gitman’s.
It’s common knowledge that Gitman Vintage manufacture some of the most striking, decorated and downright inventive shirts on the planet. Therefore, it probably won’t come as a huge surprise when I say this aint really a match made in heaven.
I just cant see your everyday Amish fella quite taking to this AW14 Portuguese Flannel Dot Shirt. Unless of course they’ve still got Amish convert/runaway lawman John Book from the 1985 film ‘Witness’ still hidden away in that corn silo. I reckon John must be sick to the back teeth of being cooped up in there and I’ve got a hunch he’d be right into these new season wares.
”John, can you hear me? Whats that? You’re sick of wearing that massive straw hat and looking like a prize berk in them braces. It’s ok mate. we’ve got a ‘L’ left in last season ‘Birds of Paradise’ shirt; i’ll get someone to hit you up with a freebie, oh and Comme de Garçon sent us some Wonderwood testers the other day so we’ll hoy some down the chute for ya, as it must fucking stink in there; especially considering your festering away with that dude you buried alive with corn. … Yeah, you should’ve just shot him really mate shouldn’t you. Hindsight’s a wonderful thing though, eh John”
