Mr Edward C has rode in on his Red Motorbike with yet more mid-tempo bombs, this time in the form of his latest record ‘Farmers God’.
With a name like Farmers God you would be forgiven for thinking this might belong on Big Country’s celtic rock album ‘The Crossing’, but on the ear it’s that slick soulful production we’ve come to expect from the Canadian born producer.
The title track sounds like it should be on the soundtrack to some old western. Think, ‘The Good the Bad and the Ugly’, only Blondie, Angel Eyes and Tuco have now all become right good pals and decided to go on some kind of Balearic pilgrimage spreading love and positive vibes. If you want a more straight forward synopsis, probably best just let your lugs be the judge and give it a listen…
‘Touch’ brings us back to more familiar territory and that floor friendly sound we’ve grown accustomed too from Eddie. Except lovely piano keys, strings, and an infectious mid tempo groove.
