It’s a hoody, but not as we know it ….
Well it’s the wrong side of 170 quid for starters, not your average sports direct purchase. Some would argue that’s some serious overpricing right there, especially when to the untrained eye (myself included here) it’s just a grey marl sweater with a hood chucked on for good measure.
Yes, it’s basic, but it’s the quality of the fabric on display that propels this handsome piece of kit to the upper echelons of the hoody hierachy. Plus, those clued up sportswear hounds amongst us (not myself included) will be well aware that Mr Hitoshi Tsujimoto’s Real McCoy’s sub-brand ‘Joe McCoy’ really know their shit when it comes to drawstring hoods and elasticated waistbands.
Taking influences from 1940’s American sportswear, the Face After Hooded Sweat is made with double loopwheel cotton around the body/sleeves to provides extra warmth, with an incredibly soft, yet durable cotton finish that’s designed to get better with age and wear.
Me though … I just like the fact it looks like something Rocky would wear on a cold Philly morning.
Now pass me them raw eggs …
