You may remember me exploring the whys and wherefores of 80s tennis culture (including some questionable haircuts) when we featured the Adidas Lendl & Edberg re-issues on the blog back in October.
Well, those illustrious 3 striped sneaker sovereigns have been firmly toppled off their throne by their centre court nemesis’ ‘Puma’, who’ve well and truly pissed on there Stan Smiths following this weeks release of their handcrafted heritage pack.
Worn by the campest, yet coolest man in Tennis ‘Boris Franz Becker’ during his debut Wimbledon Championship back in 1985, Puma have re-issued this classic silhouette and given it a 2015 re-jig. The new modified shape showcases many of the original shoes features including; suede uppers, tonal design, Puma branded midsole and that classic gum sole unit. Game, Set & Match!
Is there a better heritage tennis shoe out there? We think not. Available in white & black colour-ways over at End.
