If you’re a dog person then you go and get yourself a dog. But what if your someone who’s passion for the canny little mongrels is so, that the only next logical step is to go and make some shoes that resemble them.
Despite this not being at all weird in the slightest, that’s the route Japanese footwear manufacturers and dog enthusiasts ‘Buddy’ have gone down.
Just to clarify, there have been no dogs used in the making of these trainers, that would of course be somewhat frowned upon. Instead they’re made out of cows, with two uppers available in either premium leather or suede.
Expect more hide goings-on with the heel tabs, which are constructed from a Japanese vegetable tanned leather called ‘Tochigi’, noted for changing colour over time. Plus these hand-made puppies (sorry) are individually numbered to ensure their unique status, just as if they were your very own bundle of joy (by that I mean your dog, not your baby).
