Someone who knows a lot more than me about menswear reckons Visvim has become one of Japan’s most highly sought after and influential brands over the past few years. And, with Egyptian cotton shirting complete with elbow patches straight outta ‘Dances With Wolves’ in their armory, you can see why.
Talisman Hiroki Nakamura has a tendency to go all native up in the place and he stays true to form with this embroidered teardrop detailing taking pride of place upon a Giza cotton Oxford (commonly known in fashion circles as the highest grade cotton in the world). The rest is fairly staple shirting odds and sods, bar an ace reverse neck tab including a smart brass press stud. Very subtle!
Now when I’m wearing this shirting can I respectfully ask that you to greet me by my native American name ‘Avonaco’, which translates as ‘Lean Bear’. Be-fitting, as I’m sure anyone who knows me would agree. And, if Visvim is your vice, I suggest you go knock-on Wuchowsen (Wind Bird) and get him to cast his finest eagle eye over the rest of the collection. While you’re on with that me and my old mate Etchemin (Canoe Man) can be found loitering around Leazes park supping broon and setting fire to pigeons ….
