It’s mad to think that whilst the majority of us haven’t gotten around to buying a big winter coat yet, the first of next seasons spring/summer pre-orders are starting to litter our inboxes. Now the majority of the stuff I’ve received to date has been decidedly average, but one email from Hitoshi Tsujimoto’s ‘The Real McCoy’s label stood head and shoulders above the rest.
You will currently find a whopping 14 pages dedicated to the SS16 collection on their website. Although bare in mind that all the blurb is in Japanese, so unless it happens to be your native tongue you might want to have a click on the translated version. Or you could just look at the pictures. It’s entirely up to you.
We’ve certainly become accustomed to The Real McCoy’s delivering U.S. Military inspired garments, and nothing changes for the coming season. Expect to be greeted by the usual McCoy’s staples, along with some smart new additions including a pair of ace 10z denim overalls that I haven’t a hope of pulling off without ridicule. You see we’re still coming around to the notion of selvedge being a ‘thing’ up North.
You can currently pre-order items from the new season collection. However, when the time comes to ship you will be required to front the cost of having your garments couriered from Japan. As an alternative, I would advise waiting until specialist stockists such as York’s Superdenim get it on their racks over the coming months.
Until then here’s what grabbed my attention.
