Saucony Shadow 5000 Elite ‘Bodega Re-issue’

20th January 2016

Symbolic political stand off ? Or Saucony’s latest sneaker release?  Dunno, you decide. But could we not lobby for these Shadow’s to be worn either side of the bench during prime ministers question time.

In the red corner, the challenger weighing in at lean 170 pounds, the master of anti-austerity, the advocate of nuclear disarmament, the one, the only … Jez ‘are-you-looking-at-my-bra’ Corbyn. In the blue corner, weighing in at an impressive 210 pounds, the count of coalition, the king of cuts, the prince of welfare reform, the ego of Eaton and the reigning heavyweight champion of the  world, Chameleon ‘Call me Dave’ Cameron. OK maybe not, but these 5000’s certainly pack punch.

Back in 2010 Boston’s (that’s Boston massaschusssets not Lincolnshire) sneaker boutique Bodega released a collection of four Shadow 5000’s and became the first ever partners on the then new Saucony Elite line. This sub brand was launched with a focus on bringing back classic silhouettes using premium materials.

This latest Bodega re-issue showcases two of the original Saucony ‘Elite’ Shadow 5000 series, paying homage to where the Saucony Elite brand collaboration story began.

Blues for me. which is by no means an indication of my political persuasion.
