Following on from the success of last summers ace suede chukka collaboration with Sperry, You Must Create are now in cahoots with yet another footwear heavyweight, this time in the form of Eastern European footwear super-power, Novesta.
Established in 1939, Slovakian shoemakers Novesta certainly know their way around a rubber-soled shoe. In a sea of canvas lace-ups, Novesta’s point of difference lies in the unique chunky rubber sole which utilises a press and seal method to create a rubber line which bleeds into the canvas. There’s no glue or chemicals used in the production of their trainers, they’re entirely au naturel.
So, what do YMC bring to the table? Well, for SS16 the London brand have repurposed a selection of there favourite cotton fabrics to produce a range of high-top and low-side plimsols. And, despite not quite reaching the heights of last years Sperry colab, I think it’s fair to say that it’s another solid alliance from YMC, which is sure to be popular within CVO circles … if there is such a thing.
The full collection is available now over at YMC.
